Biotin
Biotin powder for preparation of Strep-Tactin®XT elution buffer
Biotin, also known as vitamin B7 or vitamin H, binds to the binding pockets of streptavidin, Strep-Tactin® and Strep-Tactin®XT with different affinites. It can be used for preparation of Strep-Tactin®XT elution buffer, Buffer BXT. Applied to Strep-Tactin®XT resin, it displaces bound Strep-tag®II or Twin-Strep-tag® proteins, allowing an efficient elution.
It can also be used for eluting biotinylated proteins from Strep-Tactin® resins. Please note Strep-Tactin®resins cannot be regenerated after biotin application.
