Strep-Tactin® Magnetic Microbeads
Strep-Tactin® multimers conjugated with magnetic microbeads
Please note: Strep-Tactin® Magnetic Microbeads were specifically developed for cell isolation. For protein purification, we offer MagStrep® Strep-Tactin®XT beads , which have an agarose coating that guarantees low binding of unspecific proteins and ensures a high protein binding capacity.
Strep-Tactin® Magnetic Microbeads are microspheres covalently linked to Strep-Tactin®. They are suitable for selecting cells that express a Strep-tag®II or Twin-Strep-tag® - fusion protein on the surface. Another approach is the isolation of cells via a strep-tagged protein that specifically binds to a target cell of interest. This can be e.g. an antigen for B cell selection, an MHC class I molecule for T cell selection or any type of antibody for a cell of choice. For this approach, Strep-Tactin® Magnetic Microbeads have to be complexed with a strep-tagged protein to generate a selection reagent. After the cells are isolated, biotin addition will cause the release of Strep-Tactin® Magnetic Microbeads from the cell surface.
